“You only lose what you cling to” – Gautam Buddha [Quote Discussed]

We as humans have a tendency to get attached to everything and anything in our lives. Whether it be an object or a person, we have a desire for everything and just wish to win or grab it in some way or the other.

Here, in this quote, Gautam Buddha reminds us of this basic nature of ours and warns that we shall lose the only things of our lives which we held tightly. The moment we leave a thing, person, idea, thought, we are set free from the suffering it could cause or the fear of losing it. This quote is a reminder that nothing is permanent and thus holding onto things will only lead to confusion, suffering and an attitude of lost path in the long term which is opposite to the natural goals of our lives.
